Aotearoa Maori Tag are recognised affiliates under the auspice of New Zealand Tag Football Inc. All Maori players are selected from the NZTFI sanctioned domestic competitions. Players of Maori descent who play in Australia are also eligible for selection. The pre requisite to being selected for Maori is you must be of New Zealand maori descent. Players need to have their ancestry verified before selection in the team. Aotearoa Maori compete at the Bi annual Senior Oceania Cup event, The Annual Junior Oceania Cup and the ITF Tag World Cup events respectively.
