from 2011 to 2016 the NZTFI worked in partnership with the ARL in establishing tag at secondary school level. A solid working relationship due to the ARL having College Sport sanctioning for its tag program. In 2014 the ARL decided to grant the NZTFI full administration of all things tag football and officially relinquished Auckland College Sport sanctioning to the NZTFI for tag. Since then the NZTFI and College Sports have forged a strong working relationship and have successfully run Junior (Term 4 Year 9-10) and Senior ( Term 1 Year 11-13) every year since then.
