Become an NZTFI
Tag Referee

Tag Needs YOU!

NZTFI are always looking to recruit more referees across Auckland and throughout New Zealand. Without Referees we have no game and as the saying goes, The game is only as good as the Referee.

Start at social level and work your way up, It’s up to you what level you wish to referee at, we are always looking for enthusiastic people to pick up a whistle and ‘Have a Go’.

Being a Tag Ref is an awesome way to earn money, get fit, get involved and meet new people. We are more than flexible to work around your work or playing commitments. You have the opportunity to referee from as little as one game per week or up to *seven days per week. If weekday evenings are no good or you just want to referee some additional games then we also need referees for Junior and Senior tag tournaments as well as schools tournaments and special one day events like the Tag Day Out or the Police and Services Tournament. All our referees are well trained and kept up to speed on rules updates. We understand that high quality referees are a very important as part of the NZTFI Refereeing experience. (*Auckland Based Tag Referees)

Our Tag Referees Association hold referee clinics during the year with classroom and practical based sessions for new referees to ask questions about the rules of the game, gain knowledge & learn from our experienced Referees Assessors to gain certification as a fully qualified tag referee. Once you have passed your levels of refereeing and you start to referee regularly, you will also have the opportunity to referee at regional, national and international level and be eligible participate at tournaments all over New Zealand and the world.

The NZTFI are always on the lookout for NEW referees. Whether you are a current Tag player, Rugby League or Rugby Union referee, Touch referee, or someone looking for a new challenge, we would love to hear from you! Email kvasau@nztagfootball.co.nz  for more information.
