Become a Tag Team Trainer

A fit well conditioned team is a successful team. Training teams specific to tag is a skill that requires understanding the intricacies of the game of tag and the drills and skills required to improve team performance on the tag field. Most trainers are expected to have some experience in the sport and fitness industry with an emphasis on strength and conditioning. If you are relatively new to this area it is highly advised to attend tertiary qualifications or strength and conditioning courses and clinics to constantly up-skill your knowledge base.

What is the role of a Trainer?

The role of the team trainer is to condition and prepare the teams fitness and skill levels while working closely with the Coach to achieve their team goals.

  • Working with coaches, athletes, and medical professionals to evaluate the players conditioning.
  • Creating exercise and nutrition plans.
  • Administering training drills and workouts
  • Speaking to coaches, family members, and athletes to set health and fitness goals.
  • Designing training and rehabilitation programs for athletes.
  • Using knowledge of sports-related injuries to diagnose and treat athletes.
  • Referring athletes to another doctor or other medical staff members.
  • Assisting and monitoring injured players as they heal and progress towards recovery.
  • Maintaining records relating to players condition and training, diet, and treatment plans.
  • Handling clerical tasks, such as maintaining inventory, assisting with budgets, or restocking supplies.

Preferred Tag Team Trainer Requirements:

  • Tertiary degree Qualification in Sport and Recreation.
  • Personal Trainers Certificate (Reps Recognised)
  • Proven education or experience may be desired.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges players face, proper nutrition, sports injuries, and treatment options.
  • Sport specific training techniques and drills
  • Understanding of new training advances, first-aid treatments, massage, and physical therapy techniques and equipment.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and attentive.
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, decision making, and communication skills.
